At Prime Meridian, we pride ourselves on having one of the best records in the New York Metropolitan Area. Our movers are veterans of some of the best moving companies out there, but occasionally, things happen.

Please take a moment to review your options. You will determine the amount of liability your mover has during a move. All choices are outlined in the Bill of Lading (the contract signed before the move begins). There are two types of coverage offered:

Limited Liability

New York State law mandates a minimum mover liability of $.30 per pound per article. With this option, you are compensated by the weight of an item instead of its value. For example, if a TV weighs 70 pounds, you would receive just $21.00. There is no cost to this option, but obviously, it’s a very small amount of coverage.

Homeowners Insurance

Some homeowner or renter’s insurance policies cover moves. Some allow homeowners to purchase riders for moves. Check with your homeowner’s policy.
